Sometimes Change is Good

While we are often resistant to change, there are changes that are taking place in Complete in Christ Ministries that we believe are blessings sent from God.  In the next few weeks, we will have a new website and a new web address.  Our current complete-in-christ.org will change to complete-in-christ.com.  This change was needed to update and improve our site, allowing us to place more information, pictures and even sermon messages in an easily accessible location.  A second change will involve monthly financial statements.  In an effort to make wise use of our resources, we will mail statements only on a quarterly basis.  We are excited about these good changes that we feel will be helpful to you, our faithful prayer warriors, and also to Complete in Christ.

As we think of change, I am reminded that Easter is all about change.  Because of Jesus we are changed at the moment of our salvation and God continues to do a changing, perfecting work in us the remainder of our lives.  During this season of the year, I have been reflecting upon the changes that the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus have effected in my life.  A few of those changes I would like to share with you are listed below:

1.  A change in eternal destiny – 1 John 5:13 states, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so you may know you have eternal life.”  Personally accepting Jesus into our lives changes where we will spend eternity when we die from hell to heaven.

2.  A change in life’s purpose – Jeremiah 29:11 says, “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you, and  not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”  Jesus changes our purpose for living.  Through our relationship with Him, our God-given purpose and His plan become apparent as we live for Him rather than selfishly for ourselves.  In return He gives us peace, contentment, joy and encouragement that can be found only in Jesus.

3.  A change to trust God’s provision – Philippians 4:19 states, “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”  He changes us to understand that He is faithful to meet all of our needs whether they are financial, relational, physical, emotional, spiritual or any other type.  He changes our hearts to learn to trust Him in every area because He is such a faithful God.

4.  A change in vocation – While God doesn’t change everyone’s vocation, He has certainly changed mine.  Wow, what a change!  He has moved me from coaching basketball to sharing the good news of Jesus through Complete in Christ Ministries.  Through a relationship with Jesus, He has equipped, molded and changed me so that He can send me to preach, teach and share with others about the only one who can bring real, lasting change—Jesus Christ.

Thank you for praying and investing in us.  Your faithfulness allows us the great honor of serving God and you.  Change truly is good.
