Will We Allow God to Use Us to Make a Difference in 2008?

In Robert Frost’s poem, The Road Not Taken, the work ends with this famous line, “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.”  The Bible makes a similar point in Matthew 7:13-14 when Jesus says, “Enter through the narrow gate.  For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.  But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.”

The road that we choose to travel in this life makes all the difference now as well as in eternity.  Jesus makes it clear that there are only two places in eternity—the broad way of the world and rejection of Jesus that leads to hell and eternal destruction or the narrow way of accepting Jesus’ death on the cross that leads to heaven.  We pray that you are walking  the narrow way and are one of the few that has found Christ Jesus as your Lord and Savior.    As we enter another new year, we are thankful for the privilege to continue to share the good news of Jesus, the one who makes all the difference in our daily lives as well as in eternity.  He died to give us peace, joy, contentment, patience, love, kindness, goodness, gentleness, knowledge, wisdom, discernment and a host of other heavenly blessings that we can enjoy now.  At this time of year, we make many resolutions for the new year—such as exercising more, loosing weight, eating healthier, and spending more quality time with our families.  As good as all these things are, we challenge you (as well as challenging ourselves) to invest time allowing Jesus to make a difference in our lives—such as by reading His word daily, keeping a prayer journal, loving others, being an active part of our churches, and asking the Holy Spirit to daily fill and control our lives.  Those choices are not always easy or popular but they will make all the difference in how God will use us to share Jesus with others in the new year.

Thank you again for all that you have done for us at Complete in Christ over the past year and even over the past five years.  We look forward to seeing how the Lord will use us as partners in the gospel in 2008.  Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and financial gifts.  May God continue to richly bless each of you in the new year as He has used you to bless us in the past.  Don’t forget the appreciation celebration that will be held in your honor on February 21.  More details about the time and place will be given in the February newsletter
