Looking Like Jesus, the Image of the Invisible God Recently I was in Wal-Mart when a person came up to me and began a conversation. It started like this, “I have never seen you before. I do not know who you are, but you must be Jim Hudson’s son.” My response was, “I have never seen you before and I do not believe that I know you either. You are exactly right, though about Jim Hudson being my father.” I cannot deny the fact that the older I get, the more I look like my earthly father. Wow, did the Lord ever use that conversation to pierce my heart! As a child of God, I am to look like my heavenly Father through my relationship with Jesus.
Colossians 1:15 states, “He (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God.” Jesus is a picture of the Father. When you look at the Son, you see the Father. When people look at us as believers, they are to see the image of the Father through our relationship with the One who died so that we may have life. No one has ever walked up to me in Wal-Mart or anywhere else and said, “Man, you look just like Jesus.” What about you? Isn’t that the way that it should be? Through our relationship with Jesus, people should see the we have a close relationship with our Heavenly Father. We want to thank you for your love for Jesus and for your love for us. Thank you so much for faithfully praying for us and supporting us financially as we all strive to look more and more like Jesus. The Lord continues to provide opportunities for us to preach and teach and share the love of Jesus. Our schedule for April is as follows: Please pray that our awesome God would do some amazing things over the next several weeks. Upcoming Mission Opportunities:Please pray about being involved in this our second trip to minister to the ladies of the Gulf Coast by going with us to the Ladies Conference to Biloxi – We need kitchen and nursery workers, table decorators, prayer group leaders, gift bags and door prizes. The mission trip to Mexico is on the California Baja part of Mexico. Cost is $650 plus a plane ticket to San Diego, California. It will be very primitive conditions, but a life changing opportunity to serve the less fortunate. |
