Are We Seizing the Present Opportunities to Share of God’s Love?

Over the past few days, the Lord has been speaking to my heart about the condition of the church.  In our nation today, the church has a great opportunity to make an impact, possibly as never before.  My concern is that the church (believers) may not be ready to seize the opportunity.  Today people are looking for something genuine, something true and something stable.  As believers, we have the answer for what they are seeking.  It is Jesus.  Are we as the church of our Lord Jesus ready to take advantage of this great opportunity?

What a Day – God turns discouragement into reminder

What a day!!   I will have to be honest.  My day started a little discouraging.  I woke up on this particular morning in a hotel in Elko, Nevada, which is about 2,300 miles from home.  As I looked outside, I saw fresh snow and realized that a bitterly cold north wind was blowing fiercely.  God began to speak to my heart as I read His Word.  In 1 Peter 5:6-7 the Message version of the Bible says, “So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs.  God’s strong hand is on you; He’ll promote you at the right time.”

Jesus Gives Believers the Promise of Heaven

Lately the Lord has really been speaking to my heart about the shortness of time before His return to earth.  I surely am glad to know that I will be spending eternity with Jesus in heaven.  As believers, however, we need to be actively sharing with others about the promise of heaven.

Could You Use a Little Wisdom in our Uncertain Times?

The last Sunday in January, I had the opportunity to preach at First Baptist Church in Ely, Nevada.  I shared a message entitled, “The Journey Toward Wisdom” taken from Proverbs 3:13-18 and James 1:5-7.  I believe all of us would agree that we are living in a day of uncertainty.  The economy is unstable, jobs are being lost, and people are worried about the future.  For believers, however, this uncertainty should also bring excitement.  We personally know the one who can turn the hearts of our leaders, change the outlook of the economy, and provide for our every need.  He holds our future securely.

God’s Richest Blessings for You in the New Year
As a new year begins, we often take time to reflect over the past year.  Recently, as we were reviewing the 2008 year of ministry opportunities, the Lord challenged us to revisit the vision of Complete in Christ.  In doing so, we went to Colossians 1:28-29.  These are the ministry launch verses that the Lord spoke to our hearts years ago.  As we read, we were reminded of all of the opportunities we have had this past year to proclaim Jesus, to admonish and to teach.  Please understand how important you have been and continue to be in the fulfillment of the vision of Complete in Christ.  Because of your faithfulness to pray, we have had many productive opportunities.  Because of your giving we have been able to go, to proclaim, to encourage and to teach.
