Are We Using our Time Wisely?

As another month rolls off the calendar in 2008, we believe that we must all ask ourselves a very important question.  “How are we using the precious time the Lord gives us?”  Jeremiah 29:13 says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”  So we must ask ourselves if we are diligently seeking Him above all else and with all of our hearts?  Over the past few months God has reminded us of the importance of truly searching for Him.  He also has reminded us of three avenues through which we can more earnestly, fervently seek Him.  We would like to encourage you with a reminder of these three avenues as well.

Hope through a Vision of the Glory of Jesus

As we write this month’s note to you, we are amazed at how rapidly time is passing.  We also realize that with the passing of time, there are many changes that occur in our lives—even on a daily basis.  We love you very much and count it a privilege to be able to minister the good news of Jesus through your continued support of Complete in Christ Ministries.  Thank you for the prayers, gifts, and encouragement that you give to us.  We think of you often and pray for many of you on a daily basis.  As you reflect over the past six months of 2008, have you found yourself feeling a bit depressed, discouraged, distressed or defeated?  Almost on a daily basis, we embrace these feelings as we look around at the world’s condition and all the busy activity that threatens to overwhelm us.

What a Wonderful Inheritance We Have in Jesus!
As Paul ends chapter one of his letter to the Colossians he says, “joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.”  When you begin to really think about all the Lord has done for you, don’t you want to shout “Thank you, Jesus.” He has qualified us to share in an inheritance.  Because of Jesus, the Father has rendered us worthy of an inheritance—an inheritance we cannot earn and certainly do not deserve.  But it is ours because of Jesus.  One day we will inherit heaven, but please understand that our inheritance began when we said “yes” to a relationship with Jesus.  We have the awesome privilege to be blessed from the well of God that never will run dry.  It is all possible because of Jesus. Today take some time and think about all you have because of Him.  We believe you will be compelled to shout—“Thank you, Jesus!!”

Spring – A Time of Refreshing

Spring is one of our favorite times of the year.  As we see the daffodils and tulips blooming, there is newness and freshness in the air.  The daylilies are tenacious in their determined growth this time of the year also.  In the fall, it takes only one good frost and the tired plants quickly succumb, becoming piles of brown foliage.  In the spring, however, these same plants continue to persevere in frost and this year even in a little dusting of snow.
